Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) games, in general, have accumulated a large and extremely loyal following in the gaming community. Their rise in popularity can be attributed to the longevity in which earnings and skill in each game translate over the long term. This is evident in games such as League of Legends, Smite, and Heroes of the Storm, where devoted players spend countless hours developing their characters to improve their ranking and ability to win battles.
Like League of Ancients, they all feature vibrant characters and detailed cartoon-style art that ties together with exciting battle-mode gameplay. However, the one thing they don’t have is a play-to-earn model that provides players with the opportunity to earn profits for their time spent in the game.
Welcome to League of Ancients: The Ultimate P2E MOBA
League of Ancients thrusts players into a 5 on 5 battle in which the objective is to destroy the base of the opposing team. But while this sounds simple enough, carrying out the task will require a lot more strategy and planning.
The Ancient Realm is a vast land and features controlling lanes that ultimately lead to the opposing team’s base. But as you venture through these lanes you’ll be met with different enemies that you alone cannot defeat. You’ll need to join forces with your friends on the battlefield and defeat them with a strong team effort while understanding the different characteristics of the heroes available.
The League of Ancient heroes possesses unique styles of play. Some are known for their toughness and durability, while others are specialists in sneaking out of a turbulent situation and evading damage. It will be incumbent upon you to know them well and keep an eye on the new heroes being released, to acquire the ones best suited for the battles ahead.
Game Modes
League of Ancients features three action-packed game modes for players to dive in. No matter which game mode a player participates in, they’ll be rewarded with in-game currency after the successful completion of their battle.
Normal Match
Normal Match is the foundation of all three game modes in LOA as Its mechanics can be found in the following game modes. Players can take part in a Normal Match game without worrying about losing their ranking if they do not win. It serves as an excellent entry point for novices who need to familiarize themselves more with the gameplay, tempo, and mechanics of the battle arena.
NFT Match
This competitive seasonal game mode has a time limit and players will find themselves competing with others of the same rank. All the heroes are available for an NFT Match if they possess a certain number of NFT skins at any rarity level. The lowest ranking title is Sentinel while the highest rank is Overlord. Winning a ranked match will earn you a higher level and in-game currency. Rankings will reset when a new season begins.
Tournaments
In this game mode supervised by the LOA dev team, participating teams will be required to pay a registration fee of which 5% will be allocated towards administration purposes. The teams will face off for the remaining prize pool which will be distributed as $LOA tokens.
A World of Heroes and NFTs
Virtually every in-game item and hero a player collects in LOA is an NFT that can be sold or traded on the open market. The NFT warrior heroes of LOA have one passive and three active skills each. They’re divided into 5 roles depending on the attributes that shine most in the game. The categories are as follows:
- Tank — Brawn and burly! Tanks can absorb incoming blows, throw off the opponents, and keep their teammates safe under fire. Tanks are known for their toughness and durability.
- Mage — A sorceress of sorts, Mages practice magic and derive their powers from unknown realms. They specialize in using their magic for long-range attacks and can cause severe damage on the battlefield.
- Marksman — Although Marksmen are considered to be very vulnerable, they make up for it with their deadly accuracy from long-range projectile attacks.
- Support — Need backup or a health boost? Supports can help heal and empower abilities to give your hero the reinforcements necessary to unleash on your opponents.
- Assassin — Silent and deadly, Assassins are mobile killers that can creep up undetected on an unsuspecting opponent.
Shields Up: NFT Skins
The Skins players purchase in the game serves as armor for when they go into battle. In terms of gameplay, NFT Skins change the appearance of a player’s hero and boost their earning potential when participating in normal and NFT matches. Skins of a higher rarity will yield more rewards after each battle. Players can also choose to stake their Skins and with higher staking rewards attributed to skins of a higher rarity.
The NFT Skins in LOA from least to highest rarity are Basic (1), Epic (2), Elemental (3), Champion (4), Legendary (5), Mythical (6), Event/Seasonal (6.5), Genesis (9.5), Immortal (10)
